The Atlas Service Center welcomes walk-in visitors!
The Atlas Service Center complements many of the resources available through Atlas online. MIT faculty, staff, students, and affiliates can receive guidance and complete activities by phone, via email, and in person at the Center. Please see below for details on specific services.

In accordance with U.S. immigration law, all MIT-paid faculty, staff, and student workers are required to provide proof of identity and authorization to work in the United States. See more on required documentation. Learn about the process and how to schedule an appointment.
MIT's Foreign National Payroll and Tax Coordinator is available via Zoom on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 10 am–4:30 pm, to assist students, faculty, researchers, and staff address tax treaty questions, determine U.S. tax status, and complete required forms. Complimentary notary services are available by appointment only, Monday-Friday, 10 am–3 pm. Schedule a notary appointment.

Fingerprinting for criminal background checks is available to MIT community members. Schedule a fingerprinting appointment.
2x2 passport photos are available for $10 (payable by TechCASH or credit card). Schedule a passport photo appointment.
The Hardware Service Center accepts walk-in requests for computer repairs. A loaner device can be provided while your device is undergoing a repair. Team members can also assist with software and systems issues.

Background checks are required as part of the hiring process or to obtain a security clearance.
MIT offers a variety of programs to reduce commuting costs and support sustainable transportation alternatives.
Center staff are available 8 am–5 pm to provide information about other Institute services, including benefits (HR), community wellness (MIT Health), MIT recreation (DAPER), events and activities discount program (MITAC), meal plans (DSL), and TechCASH.
